Welcome to 1000 Men of Prayer

A Call to Prayer:
To the Men of Tarrant County

Men Praying

Rise up, O men of God,
The Church for you doth wait.
Her strength unequal to her task,
Rise up and make her great.

Rise up, O Men of God
God is issuing a call to the men of Tarrant County: A call to prayer. This is not a call to increased activity and action, or more expenditure of effort and energy. It’s not a call to deliver more sermons or studies. It is a call to the men of God to be the spiritual leaders He has commissioned them to be – in their homes, their churches, and in their communities. Never before has there been a greater need for men to pray. Will you respond to the call?

1000 Men of Prayer
The Pastoral Leadership Team of Tarrant NET has been led to help mobilize this men’s prayer initiative throughout the Church. We are asking God to raise up at least 1,000 men in Tarrant County to join together in a comprehensive and concentrated prayer emphasis for the men and families of our county. We are calling it 1,000 Men of Prayer.

It will begin with a commitment from 100 pastors who agree to mobilize at least 10 men from their church to join them in prayer. These pastors, along with their men, will make up the 1000 men who will be taking part in a three-phase prayer effort that culminates with The 2008 Global Day of Prayer.

3 phases

Phase 1
Each pastor and his team of men will be asked to join together with other local pastors and men to pray for ten consecutive days from May 1st - May 10th. This will take place at a set time each day at one of our conveniently located Prayer Centers. These one-hour prayer sessions will be led by local pastors at each respective site. We will pray for renewal and revival of godly male spiritual leadership in the home, the church, and the community.

Phase 2
We are asking all participating pastors to join us at the Pastor Prayer Summit on Tuesday, April 8th. We will discuss the format and emphasis for the 10 consecutive prayer sessions, and spend some time praying together as leaders of these areas. The Pastor Prayer Summit is held each month from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Botanical Gardens, where lunch is also served.

Phase 3
Finally, we are also asking each pastor and team to participate in the Global Day of Prayer celebration to be held at the Trinity Park Pavilion off 7th Street. (across from Montgomery Ward Plaza) from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. In case of rain the celebration will be moved to Christ Chapel Bible Church. All members of all genders and ages of the Body of Christ are invited to join in this event of worship and prayer.

Be one of the 1000
We ask you to prayerfully consider joining the more than 1,000 committed Christian men who will be a part of 1,000 Men of Prayer. We believe this will be a defining moment for the men of Tarrant County as together we experience Christ’s life, His purpose, and the movement of His Spirit in His Church. Step up and be counted.

“The church today needs praying men to execute her solemn and pressing responsibility to meet the fearful crisis which is facing her. Praying men are the one commanding need of this day, as of all other days, in which God is to have or make a showing.”
